Dear Member,
In response to the worldwide effort to help Ukrainians fleeing the war, the Government of Canada has announced the launch of the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program, under which Ukrainians and their immediate family members can stay and work in Canada for up to 3 years.
In order to benefit from the program, individuals must apply on-line for a visitor visa that would enable them to stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to three years, and to also apply for a three-year open work permit at the same time. Many of the regular requirements associated with a normal visitor visa or work permit have been waived under this special program.
As an adjunct to the above, the government has also issued a call to all employers who wish to support Ukrainians with employment opportunities to register such offers on the federal Job Bank’s Jobs for Ukraine webpage. Once an offer has been listed, the Job Bank will work with local organizations and employers to help connect them with Ukrainians seeking work in their communities.
We encourage members to consider the above-noted webpage as a potential resource for meeting specific recruitment needs, while also providing Ukrainian nationals and their immediate family members with support during a very challenging time.
Sincerely,
Karen Kancens
Vice President
