Dear Member,
Further to CL 11264, please be advised that the ban on direct flights from India to Canada expired at midnight yesterday. Consequently, flights between the two countries resumed as of this morning (September 27).
Passengers flying directly from India to Canada must obtain a negative pre-departure (molecular) Covid test from the Genestrings Laboratory located at the Indira Ghandhi International Airport within 18 hours before their scheduled departure. Test appointments can be booked via this LINK. The test result (with a QR code issued by the laboratory) must be presented to the airline before boarding.
Alternatively, travellers who have previously tested positive for Covid can present a positive molecular test issued by a certified laboratory in India. The date of collection must have been between 14 and 180 days before their scheduled departure to Canada.
Please note that although the above requirements do NOT apply to crew members who are flying to Canada to join a ship, it is our understanding that they DO apply to non crew individuals who are travelling to Canada to do other types of work on board.
Additional information can be found HERE.
Sincerely,
Karen Kancens
