Dear Member,
Further to our email yesterday regarding the commencement of the Île Blanche reservation process, please note that this process indicates that the ice is more severe at the Quebec Bridges. When upbound ships from Les Escoumins pass at Île Blanche, the pilots give their ETAs for Quebec. Depending on the ice conditions, the weather conditions and the tide in Quebec, pilots in the Quebec – Trois-Rivières sector may request modifying the ETA of the vessel in Quebec. In such cases, the pilots of the Quebec-Escoumins sector will take the necessary measures to adjust the arrival time at the station.
Please note that this process warrants the closure of the Saint-Nicolas anchorage as the severity of the ice conditions at the Quebec Bridges also impacts Saint-Nicolas anchorage.
Please click here for the details of the process.
Sincerely,
Farah Ahmad
