Registrations are open for online Ship Brokering and Chartering (basic and advanced) courses at BCIT.
The courses are offered starting Jun 24th (Saturday) and Jul 22nd (Saturday) starting at 0900 hrs and are delivered 100 % online. Please click here for more information. MRBU 0100 – COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course will focus on an overview of the customary and regulatory business concepts in the marine industry, including Freight Markets and Market Practice; Chartering Contracts; Financial elements of Charter Parties covering different types of vessels such as dry bulk, tanker, liner, and containers. The course is suitable for a broad range of maritime-related professionals, including ship officers, shore-based management, new entrants to the shipping industry, logistics and supply chain professionals, ship brokers, port agencies, insurance inspectors, banks’ representatives, and similar service organizations. The course is also valuable to Classification Societies, Marine Insurers, P&I Club Managers, Port Authorities, and Coast Guard personnel, amongst others. For anyone who is interested in exploring additional training opportunities, the Shipping Federation offers a university-level program entitled the Certificate in Marine Transportation, which is composed of 5 marine courses focusing on key aspects of the commercial shipping industry.
