The Mariners’ Workshop is an annual event organized by the Shipping Federation of Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Coast Guard, Canadian Hydrographic Service, Transport Canada – Marine Safety.
The 2023 edition of Mariners’ Workshop is scheduled for January 24 and 25 at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel in Vancouver, BC.
The 2023 Workshop will focus primarily on continuous modernization of Canadian waterways supported by e-Navigation. Similar to previous Workshops, the goal is to encourage a dialogue among mariners, and to provide an opportunity to interact with stakeholders including manufacturers, service providers, and regulators.
This Workshop’s focus on Electronic Navigation includes the use of electronic charts, electronic chart systems and integrated navigational equipment and data from both internal and external sources. These tools enhance your ability to safely carry more cargo.
Your participation will influence the next phase of development of e-Navigation in Canada. Although we think of navigation as strictly a shipboard event, the details of a vessel’s transit may be of importance to you and there exist challenges in communications and information flow that can be roadblocks to your operational efficiency.
