Further to CL 11162, this is a reminder that M&O (which operates the CBSA container exam facility for cargo unloaded at the Port of Halifax), implemented a two-part tariff increase in October 2020.
The tariff consists of a 9.35 increase that came into effect on November 9, 2020 and a 4.75 percent increase that came into effect on November 9, 2021. The rate schedule reflecting the most recent increase can be found HERE.
The revised rates will remain in effect until November 2022. As previously noted, the Halifax Port Authority is working to build a new exam facility next to the Fairview Cove container terminal, and expects to engage in discussions on securing a new operator for that facility in the coming months.
