As many of you are likely aware, the SLSMC announced earlier this evening that it has reached an agreement with UNIFOR to end that strike that began on October 22. The agreement will be subject to ratification in the coming days, but in the interim, employees are set to return to work as of 7:00 AM tomorrow morning.
The SLSMC will begin to implement its recovery program immediately and will start passing ships progressively as of tomorrow morning. Additional details will be provided at the SLSMC’s daily conference call, scheduled for 8:30 AM on Monday. Please contact us if you would like to attend the call but have not received the link for joining.
Additional details about the terms of the agreement and the ratification process will be provided once they become available. In the meantime, the SLSMC’s press release announcing the end of the strike is attached.
