Almost 13 million tons of cargo has moved through the St. Lawrence Seaway over the first 6 months of 2021, an increase of 8.5% over the same period in 2020.  Cargo carried by ocean carriers has increased by almost 16% year over year so far, with General Cargo tonnage up about 76%, Dry Bulk up by 32% and containers by 40%.  Transits by ocean carriers have increased by 9% over 2020 figures.  A breakdown of cargo between domestic and ocean carriers can be found HERE.
