Shipping Federation of Canada: The voice of ocean shipping since 1903

The Canadian Coast Guard has issued the NAVWARN NW-N-0647-23, advising that effective immediately (May 29, 2023), the Strait of Belle Isle is now recommended for shipping.

However, mariners are advised to exercise caution as icebergs and sea ice may still be encountered in the area.
