April 27, 2022 | Circular No. 11432

Dear Member,

Please note that we have updated our checklists for incoming and departing marine personnel in order to reflect recent changes to Canada’s Covid-related border requirements.

Key points of interest in the revised checklists include the following:

  • Transport Canada has confirmed that non-crew marine workers seeking to enter Canada must be fully vaccinated as a condition of entry, and must be prepared to provide their proof of vaccination when submitting their travel details via ArriveCAN (crew members, however, continue to be exempt from the vaccination requirement).
  • Requirements for both pre-departure and post-arrival testing of inbound travelers have been lifted (although travelers may still be selected for random testing upon arrival).
  • Requirements for inbound travelers to submit a quarantine plan were lifted as of April 24, 2022.
  • Unvaccinated foreign nationals continue to need a negative Covid test (antigen or PCR) in order to board an outbound flight from Canada.  The government has indicated that this will remain in effect until August 31, 2022.

Members requiring any additional information on the above should contact the undersigned.
