Dear Members,
The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) has issued NAVWARN NW-N-0070-26 indicating that Ice Control Zone Tango is now active.
This zone includes the East Labrador Sea, Labrador Coasts, Newfoundland, Belle Isle Bank and the Strait of Belle Isle (see above NAVWARN link for map and full details). Mariners are cautioned that bergy waters exist South and East of this zone as well.
All laden oil tankers and ships carrying chemicals in bulk should comply with Transport Canada’s TP 15163 of the Joint Industry-Government Guidelines when navigating in this area.
