Per the attached notice from the Laurentian Pilotage Authority (LPA), the reservation process for Île Blanche will begin today, December 11, at 14:00 EST.
As a reminder, the reservation process at Île Blanche is established when the LPA and the pilotage corporation agree that the ice conditions at the Quebec Bridge are no longer safe. The pilot is therefore called and reserved as soon as the upbound vessel reaches Île Blanche, and is then informed of the normal ETA of the vessel at Quebec City. Taking into account the ice conditions, weather conditions, and the stage of tide, the pilot will then give instructions regarding the optimum boarding time in Quebec.
