Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently announced a number of changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service, including the appointment of Mario Pelletier as Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard.

Mr. Pelletier, who was most recently the Coast Guard’s Deputy Commissioner of Operations, holds a Bachelor of Technology Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, from the Canadian Coast Guard College and University of Cape Breton.  He is also the first graduate of the Coast Guard College to lead the organization.

Mr. Pelletier replaces Jeffery Hutchinson, who has been appointed as Senior Advisor to the Privy Council Office.

Both appointments are effective December 9, 2019.
